
There was excitement in the air on Saturday as St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Ajia, Ibadan decorated successful Lagos/Abuja businessman, Engineer Sunday Gbenjo as the ‘Balogun Ijo’ of the church.
The decoration was done by The Most Revered Dr. Segun Okubadejo the Diocesan Bishop of Ibadan North & Archibishop of Ibadan Province.
The wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Mrs Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde was also decorated as the Otun Iya Ijo.
Other appointed church Chiefs included Chief Joseph Oluwole Ajayi decorated as Baba Ijo; Engr. Amos Olufunso Fakayode decorated as Otun Baba Ijo; Bukola Samsom decorated as Baba Ewe and Mr Ayo Ladipo decorated as Baba Egbe Ajihinrere.
Friends and family who came to celebrate with the Ibadan-born Engr. Sunday Gbenjo included Executives and Members of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Omo-Ajorosun Club President, Mr. Abiola Alli and members of the club, Alajia of Ajia, Traditional Leaders, Business Associates, Captains of Industries, Community Associations, among others.

In a related development earlier, the Ibadan Joint Traders Association also presented an Award of Excellence to Engr. Sunday Gbenjo, the presentation was done by the Iyaloja of Ibadan, Chief Mrs Abiola Iswat Ameringun in the presence of Chief Abiola Alli and other members of trade union and Ajorosun club members.
