The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has ordered restriction of movement in Ekiti State ahead of the governorship election billed to hold on Saturday.
He stated that the restriction of vehicular movements within the state will take effect from 12:00am of Saturday 18th June, 2022 to 6:00pm of same date.
He further assured the residents of the state of adequate security during the conduct of the election.
The IG added that the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies and the military have been deployed across the state’s borders to enforce the restriction and to ensure that criminal-minded individuals do not sneak into the state.
