The Kimpact Development Initiative, (KDI) has expressed deep worry and concern over the issue of vote buying and vote selling during the Ekiti State gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on Saturday in all the 16 local government areas of the State.

Addressing journalists in Ado Ekiti on Friday during Kimpact Development Initiative, KDI, Pre-Election Press Conference, the Executive Director of the Non-government organisation, Mr. Idowu Bukola called on security agencies in the State and also, all those already deployed to look out for those who will be getting involved in financial inducement during the electoral exercise.

Mr. Idowu Bukola also said the findings of the organisation has indicated that there would be violence in some parts of the state during the election, urging security agencies to be professional, prompt and proactive in nipping such violent tendencies in the bud in the State during the election.

According to him, vote buying was not acceptable and it is against the law of the land. He called on the people of the State to encourage all the security agencies on ground to be firm and arrest both buyers and sellers of votes during the poll.

He said, “KDI is predicting a ridiculous widespread of vote buying during Saturday’s election. INEC and security agents should be up and doing during the exercise”.
