All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential standard bearer Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will on Wednesday, engage the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
Issues on the structure and composition of the APC Presidential Campaign Council have been slated for discussion with the party’s highest administrative organ. Tinubu will be accompanied by his running mate Senator Kassim Shetimma and the Director-General of the campaign council, Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong, among others.
The Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led NWC will host Tinubu and his team at the Muhammadu Buhari House National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.
It was also gathered that the meeting is to afford the party leadership and presidential standard bearer the opportunity to fine-tune the campaign council membership and perfect strategies ahead of the September 28 presidential campaign kick-off.
Wednesday’s visit will be Tinubu’s first since he won the ticket at the party’s Special National Convention and Presidential Primary in June.
To this end, the party leadership has granted a one-day off duty to all workers as a means of controlling influx of human traffic to the party Secretariat.
The notice which was issued by the party’s director of administration dated 6th September, 2022 to all staff reads in part: “With reference to the above subject matter, all staff is hereby directed to go on one day off duty tomorrow, 7th September, 2022.
“This directive has become necessary for crowd control during the visit of the presidential candidate of the party.”
