Ooni, Fashola To Be Honoured During Federal Poly Ado’s 18th Combined Convocation Ceremony

The Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti is set to honour the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Minister for Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, at its 18th combined ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday, 19th November 2022.

Speaking during a media conference, the Rector, Dr. Dayo Hephzibah Oladebeye stated that the 18th Combined convocation ceremony and the Institution’s 45th Founding Anniversary, will lead to the award of Higher National Diplomas and National Diplomas to the graduating sets of 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021 academic sets of the institution respectively.

He further revealed that the conferment of honorary fellowship awards is expected to take place at the sports complex of the institution while revealing that the Hon. Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola will commission the campus’ road network on Saturday, 19th November, 2022.

Speaking further, Oladebeye revealed that the convocation lecture titled ‘The Imperative of Polytechnic Education in Enhancing the Economic Development of Nigeria’ will be anchored by Professor Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, the Vice Chancellor, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti by 2pm.

Other activities lined up for the convocation includes a campus facility tour and commissioning of projects, special convocation exhibition on 16th and 17th of November 2022 respectively.

The Rector, however, urged for more supports from well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organization towards the growth of the institution, revealing that the institution is in dire need of support in order to improve the physical infrastructures on the institution.

He stated that the present condition of the vehicles currently used by the institution are in bad shape, while appealing to well meaning Nigerians to donate more vehicles, hostel accommodation, learning materials for  use and benefits of the institution.

Other personalities set to be conferred with honorary degrees include Yeye Aare Modupe Babalola, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ABUAD Ventures and wife of Aare Afe Babalola; Surveyor Babatunde Fakologbon, FNIS, Prince Dr. Rotimi Benjamin Ibidapo among others.
