Selfless Conduct: Labour Congress Hailed By Ekiti Government

Mr Biodun Oyebanji’s government in Ekiti State has commended the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, Ekiti State Chapter, for their selflessness and doggedness in moving the state forward.

The commendation came when the State Executive members of the Union in Ekiti state led by its Chairman, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Dr. Habibat Omolara Adubiaro in her office.

Dr. Adubiaro in her remarks said that the union has always considered general interest of the people above their own personal interest.

The SSG who was once a unionist served as a former Vice Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), FUOYE chapter also commended the union for standing by the truth and refused to be bought over.

“NLC has always been known for championing the good cause of the people. You don’t fight for yourself but fight for the benefit of others. You also stand by the truth and refused to be bought over.

“As once a unionist like you and former vice chairman of ASUU, I was known for always standing for what is just and  that which would be of benefit to others which was being testified to by my former colleagues when they paid me visit after my appointment as SSG. When you refused to be bought over and keep up standing, they will know your worth, what you can do, where they can even defend you too”she said

Adubiaro who also appreciated the labour union for fighting for the betterment of workers at all time, assured them that Governor Biodun Oyebanji led administration would never forget them and fulfill his promises.

“I really appreciate you because you have fought for the good cause of the people and I know that this  administration will never forget you and keep his promises made to you”

Earlier, the NLC Chairman Comrade Kolapo Olatunde congratulated the SSG on her appointment and expressed optimism that her good attributes and that of Governor Oyebanji would yield positive result for the progress and development of the state.
