Italian Serie A club, Torino have joined the race to sign Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers.
According to Italian sports paper Tuttosport, Dessers is attracting interest from Torino who could make a move to bring him to the club soon and this could deliver a huge blow to Michael Beale’s transfer plans at Rangers with Dessers one of his top targets this summer.
Also, Torino could also have an advantage to try and bring the transfer fee down with Cremonese keen on signing two players from the club.
Rangers have been attempting to negotiate with Cremonese who recently got relegated but have been unable to get them down from their £7million asking price so far.
But with Cremonese keen on signing Demba Seck and Gvidas Ginetis from Torino, it could allow the Turin club to pay less for him and use the pair as makeweights in the deal.
Beale has been keen to sign Dessers and wants to partner him with Sam Lammers, who completed his move to Ibrox last week.
The Dutch forward became the fourth signing of the summer after Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland.
Dessers could be added to that list if they can get the deal done but they now face competition from Torino.
