The family of one-time governor of Oyo State, Alhaji (Dr) Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina has joined others to congratulate Chief Bisi Akande, the first interim chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Osun State on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
The family described the celebrant as one of the very last titans and a leading Awoist who constantly stands on the side of the teeming masses.
In a special statement signed and sent to PMParrot by the scion of the late politician, Dr Ayobami Wasiu Lam-Adesina, the family also described the respected politician as a passionate Nigerian statesman who is ever ready to say the truth at all times.
“Chief Bisi Akande was one of the closest friends of our late father. He is a man we all grew to respect and adore. He is not the typical Nigerian politician who thinks only of himself and his family. He has great regards for those who want Nigeria’s progress,” Dr Ayobami Lam-Adesina said in the statement said.
“Our prayer is that Allah will continue to grant him sound health and divine protection. We believe Nigeria still needs his services. His wealth of wisdom is still need especially at this time that the country is going through serious economic challenges.
“On behalf of all family members left by Alhaji (Dr) Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina, I wish Baba Akande the very best in life and at the same time, I urge him not to be tired of being our great leader.”
