The Oba Adebayo Akande-owned Splash 105.5 FM Radio Station, Ibadan has regained its position as the most listened-to radio station in Oyo State.

According to the latest MPS Ratings, the only official Radio rating company in Nigeria, Splash FM dusted others to reclaim top position.

This comes after the Oriyomi Hamzat-led Agidigbo FM held the top spot for a short period.

The first private radio station in Ibadan, Splash FM dominated the Oyo airwaves for over 12 years before being overtaken by Agidigbo FM a couple of months ago. Their return to the number one position signifies a strategic shift that resonated with listeners.

In a chat with PMParrot shortly after our weekly show, Parrot Xtra Hour/Ayekooto on Splash FM on Tuesday morning, the General Manager of the broadcasting outfit, Tunde Olawuwo attributed the news feat to new ‘inspiration from God’.

According to him, “God has been merciful onto us at Splash FM and Lagelu 96.7fm. In addition, we enjoy all the support from Oba Adebayo Akande, MFR and our CEO, Mrs Atinuke Adetunji. All of us here are one big family. Because of all these, we have become more creative.”

Olawuwo added “our listeners and fans should watch out for more. We have not done anything yet. We are not unaware of how challenging it is to stay at the top. We pledge to work harder to justify the attention being given to us by our teeming listeners.”
