Bishop (Dr) David Ademola Moradeyo, the Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Christian Wing) has urged intending Nigerians pilgrims to jettison the idea of absconding whenever they go on pilgrimages.

He further added that the Oyo state government will not relent in its efforts in promoting the welfare of the pilgrims from the state.

He added, “One of our duties in Pilgrims Welfare Board includes promoting peace through interfaith dialogue, organizing Christian festivals and overseeing those who intend to travel for pilgrimage. Also, pilgrims can visit Holy sites in Rome, Greece and Jordan and not only In Jerusalem”.

The Cleric made these submissions while featuring on our weekly radio show, “Parrot Xtra/Ayekooto on Radio’ anchored by Olayinka Agboola and broadcast live on Splash 105.5FM, Felele Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State recently.

Bishop Moradeyo further urged Nigerians to seek the peace of their neighbours and the country at large while affirming that Nigeria will triumph over her present challenges.

“We have a lot of things to sacrifice individually and collectively as Nigerians and I believe that it shall be well with us as a country. As clerics, we are not relenting in our effort of praying for our nation and it is a collective effort for us to pursue and promote peace.

“We should endeavor to walk in the fear of God; nations who do not know God are suffering the consequences of their actions. Our people need to have a change of heart to do the right thing at all times”.

The Methodist Bishop also cautioned Nigerian youths to be wary of materialism and avoid the get-rich-quick syndrome while urging them to follow the path of righteousness in their daily living.

He, however, warned political office holders not to abandon the electorate who voted them into office adding that they should fulfill their campaign promises to those who voted for them.
