English Championship club, Watford will not extend the loan deal of Nigerian winger, Emmanuel Dennis.
Dennis re-signed for the Hornets on a six-month loan deal from Nottingham Forest until the end of the Championship season.
According to Watford Observer, there are decisions still to be made by Tom Cleverley on out-of-contract players like Dennis, Jake Livermore and Ben Hamer.
“It is unlikely Watford will be looking to re-engage with Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis on a further loan – and the same can be said of defender Jamal Lewis, who returns to Newcastle after a season at Vicarage Road,” the report stated.
Dennis, who took a hefty 70 per cent pay cut to make a shock return to former club Watford, made 18 appearances in his second spell at Vicarage Road, scoring four goals, including the winner at Birmingham in Cleverley’s first game as interim head coach.
He had earlier scored 12 goals, providing eight assists in 33 matches in his debut season for Watford in the Premier League in 2021/22 before moving to Nottingham Forest in August 2022.
Before his move to Watford in January, Dennis netted twice in 19 topflight games for Nottingham Forest after a forgettable loan stint at Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir in September.
Meanwhile, Dennis, 27, believes Forest will stay up in the Premier League despite their relegation battles.
Despite losing 3-2 to Chelsea last Saturday, the Tricky Trees need a point to confirm a third successive season in the Premier League.
They are currently 17th with 29 points from 37 games, three points ahead of Luton Town, who must win their remaining two games and improve their goal difference with at least 12 goals.
“They are going to stay… it’s just like, I know the players, they are my friends, (and) I just have a lot of confidence in them,” Dennis told Sky Sports.
“I don’t even know how they are even being down there to be honest.
“Normally they need to be like higher (in the table) because the players are so good, there are so many talented players there, amazing guys. So, I know they are going to stay.”
