In a bid to compete with global educational standard, Ibadan is set to host a prestigious Edge Higher Education Conference, that will bring distinguished speakers from both Nigeria and the United States to discuss advancements in educational technology.
The conference, themed “Emerging Technologies and the Future of Higher Education in Nigeria,” is part of the American Open University of Nigeria’s ongoing educational initiatives.
The conference will hold from November 29 to 30 at the university’s campus, located on Oladosu Oladipo Close, New Bodija, Ibadan.
According to the Director of the University, Dr. David Akanbi, the conference will delve into the development of AI-powered and virtual reality learning platforms, the use of innovative 3D printing applications, and the skills needed for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Among the key speakers is the Federal Representative and Chairman of the House Committee on ICT, Hon. Stanley Olajide, who will be joined by academic leaders in exploring the future of higher education in Nigeria.
Other speakers include Professor of E-Learning Practice, Dr. David Akanbi; Consultant, Apple Inc., USA, Dr. Lenora Mosby; President, Open and Distance Association of Nigeria, Prof. Francis Eghokare; Director of Instructional Technology, ATECH Online, Ms. Adrienne Crosby and Founder, RAIN Robotics, Nigeria, Dr. Olusola Ayoola .
