A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagelu Local Government area of Oyo State, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa, has congratulated Hon. Akeem Adeyemi (Skimeh) on his emergence as the Chairman, House Committee of the newly established South West Development Commission.
He described the emergence of Hon. Adeyemi as a round peg in a round hole.
Arc Giwa, who disclosed in a congratulatory message on Sunday, also commended the leadership of the House of Representatives for the choice of Hon. Adeyemi.
Hon. Akeem Adeyemi is a member of the House of Representatives representing Oyo East, Oyo West, Atiba and Afijio federal constituency.
Arc Giwa, who is also the Asiwaju Adini Musulimi of Ibadanland, disclosed that Hon. Prince Akeem Adeyemi’s experience through the oversight function, will play a vital role in quick realization of the objectives of the Commission.
According to the founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, “I want to congratulate my brother, Hon. Prince Akeem Adeyemi on his new appointment as the Chairman, House Committee on South West Development Commission (SWDC), it is a new feat which calls for experience.
“And when we are talking about that experience, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi is a round peg in a round hole. He has the executive and legislative experience that will help in the oversight function to help the Commission to realize its objectives.
I also want to commend the leadership of the House of Representatives for making the right choice that will speed up the developmental agenda of the South West region,” Arc Giwa said
The South West Development Commission is expected to cater for the six states in the South West geopolitical zone including Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states.
The commission is part of a broader strategy to accelerate development across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones.
