The family of elder statesman and chieftain of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, Pa Ayodele Adebanjo, has released the guidelines for the funeral arrangements of the deceased.
Pa Adebanjo, who passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 96, was a key figure in Nigerian politics and a staunch advocate for justice.
The family, in a statement signed by its representatives, Mrs. Ayotunde Atteh, Mrs. Adeola Azeez, and Mr. Obafemi Ayo-Adebanjo, said tribute/service of songs would be held on April 30, while the wake would hold on May 2.
The chairman of the burial planning committee, Biodun Shobanjo, on behalf of the family, expressed gratitude for the support and prayers received since his passing.
The statement read, “The funeral arrangements are as follows: Day of Tributes/Service of Songs, Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, 2pm. Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. Colour: Shades of Green. Wake, Friday, May 2nd, 2025, 4pm. Pa Ayo Adebanjo’s Country Home, Isanya Ogbo, near Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. Colour: Alari of Gold.
