Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has charged corps members deployed to the State to see the service year as a transformative experience that will shape their character, broaden their perspectives and provide them with a platform to make significant contributions to National Development.
Governor Oyebanji gave the charge at the NYSC Orientation Camp ,Ise Orun/ Emure Ekiti during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 BATCH ‘A’ Stream one Corps members deployed to Ekiti State .
The Governor who spoke through the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Gold Adedayo reiterated the commitment of his administration to the welfare of Youths in the state, promising to continue to strengthen the good working relationship between the State Government and the management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the state.
Oyebanji charged the newly deployed corps members to uphold the principles of patriotism, loyalty and selfless service exemplified by the NYSC, as these virtues have been instrumental in molding the minds of countless Nigerian youths.
He urged them to let the spirit of unity guide their actions, fostering understanding and cooperation among the diverse people of the various communities they will work and live in during their service year.
While stressing that the theme of the NYSC echoes beyond personal boundaries,the Governor noted that it resonates with the collective vision of a united, prosperous and harmonious Nigeria.
Oyebanji urged them to contribute their quota in the fight against illiteracy.
He assured that state government would continue to accord recognition of their potential and dedication noting that the State Government is committed to honouring outstanding Corps members with the prestigious state honours award.
Earlier in his address, the State Coordinator of the NYSC , Alhaji Riko Shuaibu acknowledged the immense contributions of the Oyebanji administration towards providing an enabling environment for members at the Camp.
He noted that the State Government has constructed multi unit conveniences for the Corps members thus greatly improving hygiene in the camp
Shuaibu who disclosed that over 1500 corps members had been registered at the camp, said he was elated that the camp has been relatively peaceful, organised and devoid of any hazards .
He noted that the Corps members at the camp have been responding with great zeal, maturity and discipline.
He charged the Corps members to surpass the legacies of their predecessors and endeavor to leave indelible landmarks in Ekiti State through their selflessness and relentless participation in community development and also encouraged them to put in their best in all that is assigned to them while in service.
