The Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Iseyin Command, on Thursday, recovered the corpse of a 45-year-old man from a deep well.
The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Fire Reform and the state Chairman of Fire Services Agency, Moroof Akinwande, announced this in a statement in Ibadan, the state capital.
He explained that the incident occurred at Odo-Ogbo, Oja-Agbe Area, in the Iseyin Local Government Area of the state, on Wednesday night.
Akinwande said, “The emergency was reported at exactly 09:04hrs on Thursday, November 6, 2025, through a running caller and Mrs Azeez Iyabo to someone trapped in a deep well at the above address.
“The agency’s officers, led by CFS Banuso, promptly responded and deployed to the scene of the incident. On getting there, it was a man of about 45 years of age who fell into a deep well on Wednesday night.
“Our officers quickly swung into action by applying all necessary rescue equipment, and the man was recovered from the well and handed to the team of policemen from Okutapemo Divisional Headquarters, Iseyin,” he stressed.
The chairman, therefore, urged the public to be very careful in all their activities so as to avoid being trapped in a place where they could not rescue themselves, and also emphasized the importance of avoiding be in isolation.
