The Managing Director/CEO of South West Development Commission (SWDC), Dr. Charles ‘Diji Akinola, has expressed condolences on the passing of Oba Adegboyega Famoodun, the Owa of Igbajo, who transitioned on Sunday.
In a statement, Akinola described the late monarch as a visionary, courageous leader, and consummate politician who embodied character and service. He highlighted Oba Famoodun’s exemplary leadership as the state chairman of APC in Osun State, noting his inspirational and fair-minded approach that united diverse voices for party progress.
“The news of Oba Famoodun’s passing is shocking. He rendered impeccable leadership as APC state chairman. His tenure was defined by character, fairness, and unity. He confronted challenges with courage, inspiring members and leaders alike.
“A great community leader, his love for Igbajo, Osun State, and Nigeria was evident,” Akinola said.
Akinola prayed for God’s comfort for the family, Igbajo community, and APC leaders and members in Osun State, saying “Osun State has lost a progressive icon, committed leader, and inspiring traditional ruler. We will sorely miss him.
