The founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa, has gifted financial support to 35 traders in Lagelu Local Government.
The financial support is in line with the objective of the foundation, under HOG Empowerment Scheme, to boost their businesses.
Recall that the HOG Foundation operates under various schemes including HOG Educational Support Scheme, HOG Health Support Scheme, HOG Empowerment Scheme, and HOG Agric Support Scheme.
Recently, under HOG Educational Support Scheme, the foundation distributed school bags and exercise books worth over ₦5,000,000 to about 500 students across Lagelu Local Government.
This, he said, is to raise the standard of education and ease the financial burden of parents in the present economic situation.
Speaking on what prompted the financial assistance gesture, Arc Giwa, who is also the Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadanland, disclosed that the idea is to enable the beneficiaries to remain in business and be independent.
He added that the financial assistance will boost their businesses and enable them to contribute to the growing economy.
Arc Hassan Giwa also emphasized that the foundation does not focus on ethnic or religious background, but rather cuts across every individual, irrespective of faith or ethnic background, as long as the beneficiary falls under the category.
“Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation operates under different schemes – health, education, agriculture, empowerment for traders, artisans, aged, widows, and youth. Recently, precisely in January, we distributed school bags and exercise books to some of our students in the council area, about 500, under education. We have distributed cutlasses, sprayer, chemical, files, and other farm tools to support farmers. We have also organized a free health programme to ensure our aged people are well taken care of.
“This is just one of our programmes. In fact, we do it often because they are in batches. It is the turn of these beneficiaries; next is for another set, so we do this at every given opportunity. The purpose is to support their businesses. One thing is to have what you are doing as a business; another thing is to get the necessary support to improve on it. We are only supporting their dreams in our own little way,” Arc Giwa said.
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the gesture to boost their businesses and take care of themselves.
The HOG Foundation founder used the opportunity to inform that he will be paying for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) of some students in Lagelu Local Government.
He said about 41 students benefited from the scheme in 2025, adding that he was happy that the majority of them have secured admission into various higher institutions of learning.
