The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has announced Benjamin Adereti Kayode as its deputy governorship candidate ahead of the 2026 election.
The party confirmed his selection on Thursday, unveiling the new campaign slogan, ‘AMBO-KAYODE 2026.’
Kayode, 48, hails from Ife Central in Osun East and is widely recognised as a philanthropist and a telecommunications expert.
He replaces Lekan Olatunji, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, who had been nominated on February 16 as a placeholder for the deputy governorship slot.
APC’s choice of Kayode is expected to strengthen the party’s ticket as it prepares for a highly competitive race in Osun State.
Party sources say the selection aligns with the APC’s strategy to balance regional representation and appeal to a broad electorate across the state.
