President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended renowned legal icon, Chief Wole Olanipekun for his philanthropic intervention in the health sector, describing his donation of a Mother and Child Maternity Complex in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, as a model of public-spirited leadership.

In a goodwill message personally signed by the President, Tinubu praised Olanipekun’s gesture as a landmark contribution to community development and a significant boost to healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

He congratulated the Senior Advocate of Nigeria on what he described as an outstanding and impactful investment in the health sector, noting that it reflects a long-standing commitment to improving the welfare of citizens, especially women and children.

According to the President, Chief Olanipekun has consistently demonstrated the values of public service and philanthropy, using his personal resources to uplift communities across various sectors over several decades.

Tinubu further described him as a distinguished legal practitioner, community leader, patriot, and humanist whose influence extends beyond the legal profession into national development and social transformation.

He also commended the Wole Olanipekun Foundation for its continued investment in education and human capital development through scholarships and empowerment programmes targeted at undergraduates, law students, and vulnerable groups.

The President noted that Olanipekun’s contributions to education, faith-based initiatives, and social inclusion have had a lasting impact on Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, and Nigeria as a whole.

Describing the Newcruse Mother and Child Maternity Complex as a state-of-the-art facility, Tinubu expressed confidence that it would significantly improve access to quality healthcare services for residents of the area and beyond.

He, however, urged the Ekiti State Government and the people of Ikere-Ekiti to take full ownership of the facility, ensuring its proper maintenance and sustainability as a centre of medical excellence for present and future generations.
