The Ibadan Foundation, a socio-economic body of prominent Ibadan sons and daughters, is set to hold its 2026 annual lecture on September 17, with a focus on agriculture and its role in strengthening community development and social relations in Ibadan.
The lecture, themed “Cultivating Community: Ibadan Social Dynamics in Agriculture,” will be held at the Ibadan Civic Centre, Idi-Ape, Ibadan, at 11 am.
In a letter signed by the President of the foundation, Prof Babatunde Oyedeji, and the Executive Secretary, Alamu Muda-Ayeni, the organisers described the annual lecture as part of their efforts to promote discussions on issues of human and national interest and contribute to the development of Ibadanland.
The lecture will be delivered by a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Prof Felix Salako.
The event, according to the letter, will be chaired by retired Maj Gen Asimiyu Olaniyi, while the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, will be the special guest of honour.
