The President of the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) of Nigeria, Prince Vincent Okumagba, has congratulated the Super Falcons on their 2–0 victory over Comoros in the women’s football qualifying campaign for the 2028 Olympic Games, describing the performance as an encouraging step towards Nigeria’s Olympic ambition.

Okumagba also commended the team’s coaching crew, led by Austin Eguavoen, and the National Sports Commission (NSC) for their contributions to the development and progress of Nigerian football.

The SESC president led a delegation of supporters to Ikenne, Ogun State, where they rallied behind the Super Falcons and helped create an atmosphere of enthusiasm and national pride during the encounter.

The supporters’ journey from Lagos reflected their commitment to the national team. A coaster bus carrying instrumentalists, club members and members of the executive committee departed Lagos for Ikenne, while Okumagba travelled separately in a private car alongside other supporters. Members from Kwara State and other parts of the south-west also joined the delegation, giving the club a strong presence at the stadium.

According to Okumagba, the Super Falcons demonstrated determination, energy, and a strong desire to secure victory, rewarding the travelling supporters with an impressive performance.

The breakthrough came within the first five minutes of the second half, when Nigeria scored twice to establish a decisive 2–0 lead and send supporters into celebration.

He described the players’ fighting spirit as particularly encouraging, noting that their commitment and response on the pitch demonstrated the importance of perseverance and collective effort in the pursuit of national football objectives.

“Supporting our national teams goes beyond simply watching football. We must be present, raise our voices, provide encouragement, and remind our players that millions of Nigerians are standing behind them,” Okumagba said.

The SESC president stressed that qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games must remain a major priority for the Super Falcons, urging the team to build on the victory and maintain its focus, consistency, and competitive spirit throughout the qualifying campaign.

He noted that Nigerian football must seize every opportunity to achieve success on the international stage, adding that the victory over Comoros, while encouraging, should serve as motivation for greater performances in subsequent matches.

He expressed appreciation to all SESC members, instrumentalists, executive committee members, and other supporters who made the journey to Ikenne, acknowledging their sacrifices and dedication to promoting Nigerian football.

The victory provides the Super Falcons with renewed encouragement as they pursue a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The club has reaffirmed its commitment to standing firmly behind the Super Falcons throughout their qualifying journey, with the hope that the team will ultimately secure the coveted Olympic ticket and bring further pride to the nation.
