The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has intensified consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections, engaging Christian and Muslim leaders as well as traditional rulers in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of the state.

Alli, who visited the area on Monday, October 19, 2026, met with members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the League of Imams and Alfas, and the Asigangan of Iganganland, Oba Rafiu Adeniyi, as part of efforts to strengthen relationships with religious and traditional institutions ahead of the polls.

During the meeting with the Christian community, the APC candidate addressed members of CAN on the forthcoming elections.

The governorship candidate also held discussions with members of the League of Imams and Alfas in the local government, seeking continued engagement with Muslim leaders and other stakeholders in the area.

He emphasized that any sustainable development agenda must respect faith, culture, and ongoing dialogue with community institutions.

As part of the tour, Alli visited the palace of the Asigangan of Iganganland, Oba Rafiu Adeniyi, where he met with the traditional ruler and members of his entourage. The monarch welcomed the APC candidate and his team to the palace.

The engagements form part of Alli’s consultations with key stakeholders across Oyo State as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Those who accompanied the APC candidate on the tour included his deputy governorship candidate, Engr. Soji Adedeji, the party’s Oyo South Senatorial candidate, Hon. Remi Oseni, and the Director-General of the Oyo State campaign, Chief Yemi Aderibigbe, alongside other party members.

The consultations come as political parties and their candidates continue to engage communities, religious institutions, and traditional authorities in preparation for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
