The event, held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Remi Oseni Hall, Old Adeoyo Road, Agbadagbudu, Ibadan, brought together ANBROAD executives, veteran broadcasters, media professionals, and representatives of radio stations across Oyo State.

The gathering featured important deliberations on how broadcasters can effectively contribute to Nigeria’s political ecosystem through their professional expertise, talents, and commitment to responsible journalism.

Representing the campaign team of Hon. Engr. Aderemi Oseni, Barr. Lowo Obisesan commended ANBROAD members for their outstanding contributions to the broadcasting profession and their commitment to informing and educating the public.

Obisesan also pledged a cordial and productive working relationship between the political camp and the association, stressing the importance of collaboration between political leaders and media practitioners in advancing democratic development.

He highlighted the massive empowerment initiatives of Engr. Aderemi Oseni, noting that the interventions had positively impacted the lives of constituents and strengthened Oseni’s connection with the people of Oyo State.

According to him, Oseni’s empowerment programmes and grassroots-oriented activities have endeared him to many residents of the state, contributing to growing support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The National President of ANBROAD, Alhaji Abdul Ganeey Abdul Razaq Adekunle, popularly known as Mr. GRA, who is also seeking election to represent Ibadan North State Constituency I under the APC, delivered a speech on the critical role of broadcasters in Nigeria’s democratic process.

GRA described the media as the fourth estate of the realm, following the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary, and emphasized the importance of broadcasters’ participation in the political process.

He noted that journalists and broadcasters play a vital role as agenda-setters, influencing public discourse, shaping political conversations, and helping citizens make informed decisions.

He further stressed that the broadcasting profession carries significant responsibility in promoting accountability, democratic values, and constructive engagement among political actors and the electorate.

Other speakers at the event included Mogaji Kola Akintayo, ANBROAD Board of Trustees member in Oyo State, and Pastor Mrs. Aisida Nee Oseni, Assistant National Secretary-General of ANBROAD.

Their contributions further underscored the importance of professional broadcasting, effective communication, and sustained engagement between the media and political institutions.

Among the prominent ANBROAD leaders in attendance were Alhaji Wale Lawal, popularly known as Baba Promo; Madam Kofo Adenuga, Oyo State Governor of ANBROAD; Alhaji Mikail, the association’s Deputy Governor; and Dr. Bade Ojuade, Elder Akeem Ewon o’jóle.

The programme also attracted representatives of several broadcasting and media organisations, including Omoluabi Radio, Wells Radio, Prince FM, Splash FM, Iri FM, Abinibi FM, TNM Media, Dynasty FM Oyo, Agidigbo FM, Oxygen FM, Vintage FM, and 91.6 FM.

The engagement provided an avenue for media professionals and political stakeholders to exchange ideas on the responsibilities of broadcasters in shaping public opinion, promoting political participation, and contributing to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening the relationship between ANBROAD and the political community, with participants emphasizing the need for a more inclusive and productive broadcasting environment.

The gathering also reinforced the importance of collaboration between political leaders and the media in building a stronger broadcasting community and promoting democratic development.

The event’s central message was clear: broadcasters remain indispensable partners in shaping public discourse, strengthening democracy, and advancing the political development of Nigeria.
