The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon Oba Francis Olushola Alao has congratulated Muslim faithful in Orile-Igbon and Nigeria at large on the celebration of this year’s Eid al-Adha.

The monarch, in a message he personally signed, expressed gratitude to Allah for the grace to witness another Eid al-Adha, which Muslims are celebrating across the world this weekend.

Oba Olugbon said it is important to thank God for peace in Nigeria, particularly in Oyo State where people of different faiths live peaceably together.

He urged Muslims to use this occasion to reflect on the three key virtues that the festival stands for – obedience, sacrifice and God’s mercy. He emphasized the need for Muslims to continue to hold fast their faith in Allah, obey Him and live a life of sacrifice, assuring that the Almighty Allah is always faithful to show mercy.

“Importantly, these virtues should continue to show in our relationship with fellow Muslims, neighbours practising other faiths, and in our daily obligations to Nigeria our country. We should continue to be good Muslims, upholding the tenets of the faith and be patriotic in all our activities.” Olugbon counseled.

The monarch also urged celebrants to be moderate during the festival, remember the needy, and continue to support all leaders, trusting God for the Nigeria of our collective dream.
