A 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, has been arrested over the alleged killing of two persons and the injury of three others following a knife attack in the Olámbe area of Ogun State.

PUNCH Metro learnt from a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, on Wednesday, that the incident was a violent outburst linked to a failed business deal.

“Detectives of the Ajuwon Division have arrested Abubakar Musa ‘M’, aged 25. He is accused of killing two people and injuring three others at Olámbe, Ogun State,” the statement read.

The suspect allegedly attacked the victims with a knife when they tried to calm him following an alleged altercation.

“The suspect attacked the victims with a knife after failing in some business deals. The victims were trying to calm him down when the attack happened,” the statement added.

Providing further details, the command said, “On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 01:38 hrs, the suspect stabbed five people.”

It added that two of the victims, Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40, “died while being taken to the hospital,” while “a doctor later confirmed their deaths.”

Three others—Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25—sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment.

“The other three victims are in critical condition but responding to treatment,” the police stated.

The statement further noted that “the suspect ran away after the attack but was later arrested by detectives,” adding that he is now in police custody.

The police said, “The case and the suspect have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.”

Reacting, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and assured residents that those responsible would face justice.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious or violent behaviour to security agencies.
