Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Akeem Sadiq, describing his demise as a painful loss to the people of Egbeda and Oyo State.
In a condolence message made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Sunday, Senator Alli said the late Sadiq was a committed grassroots politician whose contributions to the development of the council and humanity would remain unforgettable.
The senator noted that the deceased distinguished himself through dedication, humility and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people during his time in public service.
The lawmaker said that the late Sadiq’s leadership style earned him respect across political divides.
He said that the death of the former council boss had created a vacuum in the council’s political landscape, stressing that the late politician was passionate about the growth and progress of his community.
Senator Alli condoled with the immediate family of the deceased, political associates, friends and the entire people of Egbeda over the irreparable loss.
The lawmaker prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanah Firdaus.
The senator also prayed for strength and comfort for all those mourning the late Sadiq, urging them to uphold the noble ideals and legacies he left behind.
