Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested one Adedeji Benjamin for allegedly using a dummy gun to rob, abduct and rape women in Benin City metropolis.
Nemesis caught up with him after a lady, who was allegedly abducted by two men from Ihama and taken to Tembogha to be raped and robbed at gunpoint, reported to the police.
A statement by Edo police spokesman, Eno Ikoedem, said the toy gun used during the crime and a Lexus Jeep were recovered as exhibits from the suspects.
The statement said the suspect has confessed to the crime and would be prosecuted in accordance with extant laws while efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing accomplice.
