The Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Michael Adesina Adeyemo and retired AIG Tunji Alapini have joined other great Nigerians to mourn the untimely death of the Director General, DAWN Commission, Dipo Famakinwa.
The late technocrat whose demise occurred in Lagos on Friday morning was described by Adeyemo as shocking and unfortunate.
Adeyemo told PMParrotng during an online chat that “Egbon Dipo was very passionate and committed to the regional integration and development of the South West. He put all his efforts into the realisation of the goals and visions of DAWN commission.
“He was very simple, hardworking and intelligent. I will personally miss him. Good night Egbon. May your soul rest in peace and may God give the family and DAWN Commission the fortitude to bear the loss.”
In his own message, Chief Tunji Alapini who also paid a visit to the Ogba, Lagos residence of the Famakinwas on Saturday afternoon informed PMParrotng that “I did not first believe it when I heard the news yesterday. I just could not bring myself to believe it.”
Alapini continued “Dipo was a man I had great respect for because of his unusual intellectual gift. He was also a committed and hard working man who pursued the ideals of DAWN Commission with everything he had. May his soul rest in peace.”
