The Osun State College of Technology in Esa-Oke has concluded arrangements to begin an open distance flexible electronic learning in the institution.

The above decision was contained in a statement signed and sent to PMParrot on Wednesday afternoon by the Director, Media, Public Relations and Partnership of the Osun State College of Technology in Esa-Oke, Dr. Wale Oyekanmi.

The statement said further that “in 1963, Rev. Martin Luther King had a dream that one day, his children and great grandchildren will work freely on the streets of America without any molestation or discrimination because of their colour. And precisely, in the year 2008; 45 years after, Barack Obama, an African American became the President of the United States of America”.

Wale Oyekanmi, considering the above, ascribed the scenario to the dream of the dynamic and multi-disciplinary Rector of the Institution, Dr. Samson Omobayo Adegoke since the year 2007 when he started to pursue the dream of the need to have an ODFe-Learning at the Osun State College of Technology in Esa- Oke and after the visit of the 5 – Man Powerful accreditation team from the National Board for Technical Education in Kaduna, ably led by the Acting Director of the NBTE Centre of Excellence, Alhaji J. A. Adamu, the dream became a reality.

The College’s Spokesperson, Dr. Wale Oyekanmi went on to submit that “the team was not only impressed by all the facilities put in place for the programme, they also commended the readiness of the Staffs of the Institution towards the smooth take off of the programme”.

Oyekanmi explained further how the NBTE team from Kaduna during an  interview expressed their satisfaction and commended the Rector, Dr. Samson Omobayo Adegoke and the other members of the institution’s management for their determination to ensure the actualization of the programme.

The visit was rounded off with a train the trainer workshop organised for all the Deans, Directors and Heads of all approved programmes in the Institution.

The Rector expressed his appreciation to God for making the dream a reality. He also used the opportunity to thank all members of Management and Staff for their support.
