Nigeria's Alex Iwobi...

The market value of Nigeria international, Alex Iwobi, has dropped by €4m according to respectable football statistics website, Transfermarkt due to his recent poor outing for Everton.

Iwobi who joined Everton on deadline day from Arsenal for a reported £34m in the summer of 2019 has failed to live up to the expectation of the club scoring just three league goals in over 60 appearances for the Toffees in his first three seasons.

The Nigerian has been deployed in different experimental positions by the different managers that have managed the club since he joined the side. He’s been played as a right-back, right wing-back, left and right winger as well as a playmaker but nothing seems to click for the 25-year-old.

However, according to Transfermarkt’s latest update on December 23, Iwobi has seen his value drop from €22m to €18m.

The Nigerian had been valued at €22m in the update made in June but six months later, his market value has dropped by €4m.

The former Arsenal man reached his best market value in December 2019 where he was valued at €32m.

The 25-year-old is contracted to the Toffees until the summer of 2024.

Iwobi has been included in the Super Eagles final 28-man squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in January.
