Napoli manager, Rudi Garcia has confirmed that Victor Osimhen will not be leaving the club this summer.
Osimhen has been linked to the biggest clubs in Europe since the start of the transfer window, with Chelsea, Manchester United, PSG, and Bayern Munich reported to be among his suitors.
Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis has previously claimed that the club will look to negotiate a deal for the Super Eagles striker if a suitable offer comes in, but Garcia has hinted that Osimhen is not seeking a move away from the club.
While speaking at a press conference at Dimaro, where the Italian champions are due to start training camp for their preseason games, the new Napoli boss as reported by Tutto Napoli said: ”Yes, obviously I heard him. I can assure you that he wants to stay, he’s happy to be with us and still wants to do great things.”
Osimhen played a key role in Napoli’s title win and a Champions League quarterfinal spot last season for the first time in their history.
The 24-year-old scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances and a further 5 in the Champions League.
Napoli will start the defense of their title away at newcomers Frosinone on the 19th of August, 2023.
