All is now calm in Ede, the country home of deceased popular politician, Senator Isiaka Adeleke who died on Sunday morning – the much talked about autopsy has been successfully concluded and his remains have been returned home in preparation for burial on Monday morning according to Islamic rites.

PMParrotng can confirm that the burial postponement was due to the autopsy carried out on his body at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo on Sunday afternoon as reportedly ordered by his billionaire junior brother, Deji Adeleke.

According to a close source, the autopsy was completed on Sunday evening and the burial rites will be performed on Monday, in the morning.

Earlier on Sunday, there was tension in Ede, the deceased’s country home as many were still in rude shock over the development.

Some irate youths were seen blocking the road leading to his country home as they were angry about the death of their benefactor, leader and mentor.

The protesting youth attacked a journalist attached to the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Osogbo, Mr. Tope Alabi and his cameraman.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with Osun State Government and members of the National Assembly on the passing away of Sen. Adeleke.

President Buhari, who sent his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased through his spokesman, Femi Adesina described the gentle and kind hearted former Governor of Osun State who had passionately and relentlessly championed the cause of the less privileged and most vulnerable in Nigeria as a great Nigerian nation builder.

The President said further “the sudden loss of the legislator will create a gap in the hallowed red chamber as Adeleke had always epitomized unbridled patriotism, maturity and experience, especially with his recent interest in the protection of whistle blowers.

President Buhari affirmed that Adeleke’s contribution to his state, as first elected governor, and the country will always be remembered by posterity.

Still on the same note, prominent indigenes of the state have been commiserating with the family of Adeleke and the sons and daughters of Ede on the demise of the former executive governor of Osun state.

A former governor of the state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola has described the death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke as a monumental loss which has made the state and the country poorer.

In a statement issued in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyinlola who said he was on his way to Osogbo from Lagos when the news was broken to him noted that he was still in shock.

He described Adeleke as a brother, friend and confidant whose demise had made him, the state and the political class in Nigeria poorer.

Oyinlola who stressed that he still found it difficult to come to terms with the reality of the death of the first Executive Governor of Osun state prayed to God to grant his soul eternal peace.

Also, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Peter Babalola has described the sudden death of Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke as shocking and sad.

Babalola, who is also the chairman, Local Government Service Commission in the state, in a statement he signed described the late Senator as a quintessential grassroots mobilizer who was calm, mature and humble.

The APC chieftain condoled with the family, the APC family, the senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the entire people of the state on the death of one of their very best.

Son of late Chief Bola Ige and a former Commissioner in Osun State, Architect Muyiwa Ige, in a statement made available to PMParrotng said he was yet to believe that the astute politician has died.

“Senator Adeleke’s death is still like an unreal occurrence to me. He was hale and hearty yesterday, Saturday and today, he is no more. What a sad loss. Our people in Ede have lost an illustrious son, the State of Osun will miss this iconic politician, and the Nigerian Senate too will feel the loss of the experienced political giant. May his soul rest in peace.”
