Sulaiman Adesina, Rtd. Colonel Muhammed Abubakar, Hon. Abass Adigun (a.k.a. Agboworin), Hon. Tolani Adigun Tajudeen, Hon. Ibrahim Salami (Dikko) among others.
The Supreme Council of Nigeria Chaplain was represented by the powerful delegation led by the National President, General Dr. E.A. Babalola (JP), Vice-President (South West), Gen. Dr. E.A. Folorunsho (JP), Board Secretary –General, Gen. Dr. Moses Ishola (JP), National Director of Research & Development, Gen. Dr. N.O. Olaniyan and National Director of Information & Communication, Gen. Dr. G.A. Adedapo (JP) and others.
While presenting the Award to Hon. Ige, the National President, Supreme Council of Nigeria Chaplains, General (Dr) Emanuel Babalola JP explained that Hon. Ige was picked for the award out of many people that have been in politics in Oyo State and even in Nigeria because of his performance, good relationship with the people around him.
According to him, “We are people oriented service organization and professionals. We are always identifying with the people that are serving to the best of their ability to bring betterment to peoples’ lives to make them realize their God given potentials like Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige.
“As an internationally known organization, we have been following the antecedents of politicians not only in Oyo State but Nigeria and measuring their performances and found out that this man, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige stands out and is serving the people to the best of his ability. He has been performing very well and is very close to the people at the grassroot. This is the type of person we want and we can vouch for.” He asserted.
On the 2019 general elections, the National President implored the electorate not to vote just any party but to vote for personalities and only those that have been performing very well in order to enjoy quality representation and good governance.
Responding, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige thanked the organization for finding him worthy for the award.
He recalled that about two weeks ago, he received similar award from a Kogi based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Centre for Ethics and Self Value Evaluation who carried out an independent assessment for all House of Assembly honourable members in Nigeria without the honourable members’ knowledge and came up with a list of 100 members across Nigeria that have performed creditably well including him.
He stressed that the caliber of groups and organizations that are awarding him in recent times have confirmed to him that truly he’s doing well for the electorate that elected him, adding that this has become a challenge for him to do more.
Hon. Ige further pointed out that he has refused to be lured to join the ruling party in the state despite the financial inducement and other promises because of his contentment and love he has for the electorate.
While promising to continue to give his support to the organization morally, logistically and financially, Hon. Ademola Ige, however, dedicated the said award to Officer D.S. Maku who was gruesomely murdered by Fulani herdsmen in Saki, the less privileged people, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji (Aje Ogunguniso I).
