Nigeria Imigration To Commence Issuance Of Passports With 10-Years’ Validity Soon

The Nigeria Immigration service will this year commence the issuance of Nigerian Passport with ten years validity with improved security feature and quality.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr Mohammed Babandede stated this during a courtesy visit to the Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi at the secretariat office, Agodi Ibadan.

The Immigration boss explained that the new passport will have feature that will stand the test of time and it will run concurrently with the old ones  as it is expected to commence by first week in December.

Mr Babandede said the Nigeria immigration service has also improved on its visa accessibility through the introduction of visa-on – Arrival for immigrants whose country is without an embassy in the country.

He said the Immigration Service has also initiated the centralization of Temporary Work Permit for immigrants who are in the country for a temporary assignment.

While speaking on border patrol, the immigration boss explained that the immigration service has introduced forward front Border Patrol to curtail the criminal activities within the border areas.

He said the immigration service will continue to do everything possible to ensure adequate security of the border and the country at large.

While responding, Governor Abiola Ajimobi who was represented by his deputy,  Otunba Moses Adeyemo called on the Nigeria Immigration service to ensure regular monitoring of Nigeria Borders for the sustenance of peace in the country.

He also admonished the Comptroller General to initiate policy to check  illegal immigrants and emigrants into the country.

Gifts items were later exchanged between the immigration service and the Oyo State Government.
