The Oyo State House of Assembly has summoned the chairman of Ibadan South East local government, Abimbola Omiyale to appear before it on the 13th of November to clear himself of some allegations raised against him by the two lawmakers.
The House presided over by the speaker, Honorable Olagunju Ojo gave this charge on Tuesday during the plenary after receiving the report presented by the house committee on local government, chieftaincy matters and state honors assigned to investigate the involvement of the chairman over the disruption of rehabilitation work at Odinjo Muslim road initiated by Honorable Akeem Ademola Ige.
It would be recalled that Hon. Ige had reported the uncivil and unruly behavior of the chairman, over the stoppage of OYSTROMA officials from rehabilitating Odinjo road that links Ibadan-Lagos express road around Muslim area, which called for the set-up of the committee to look into it.
The committee in their findings claimed that Omiyale disturbed officials of Oyo State Road Mantanace Agency on the day they were meant to start rehabilitation works on Odinjo Muslim road claiming there was a ‘bridge of communication’ between him and Hon Ige.
However, some members of the House while identifying some flaws in the report, moved that Omiyale should appear before the House for better clarification and transparency.
In another development, the lawmaker representing Ibadan South East 1, Honorable Fatai Adeshina has appealed to the state government to provide succor and aid materials to residents of Ayedade, Adeshola and Elekuro area of the state who were affected by recent rain storm.
