- Says: I Am The Only Candidate That paid Highest Of Sacrifice To Take Our State To The Next Level
Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the gubernatorial candidate of the ruling Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has been talking about what makes him different from the other contestants from other parties.
The youthful Adebayo Adelabu explained that among the candidates jostling for the Agodi Government House, he remains the only candidate that have paid highest of sacrifice by leaving his job to leverage on the successes of the current administration and take Oyo State to the next level.
He disclosed this during a media parley to herald his gubernatorial campaign held at his Base One Hotel, Jericho, Ibadan.
The Agbaakin Parakoyi Olubadan of Ibadanland noted that his decision to resign his position as Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and join the murky water of politics to contest was encouraged because of his desire to contribute his quota to the economic prosperity of Oyo State.
Adelabu, also maintained that efforts to sustain the good legacy of the present administration under Senator Abiola Ajimobi as well as to protect the political legacy of his grand father played vital role in his decision.
“I am distinct form others because I am all of the candidates in one person. I am a youthful candidate, and a candidate that has a family legacy to protect.
“I have what it take to govern Oyo State in terms of my past experience and exposure. I am a candidate without political stain, I have never contested election, I am fresh and painstaking.
“I am the only candidate that has traversed the three levels of consulting, operating and regulating that we have in the corporate world,” he said.
In his address on the electioneering campaign manifestos, Adelabu emphasized that his administration will focus on seven- point agenda of security, agriculture, housing, education, health, environment and transportation.
The APC gubernatorial candidate expressed other special areas that his administration will focus on the welfare of people living with disabilities and development of youths.
Adelabu said that Oyo state’s youths will be engaged under a special area he described as tools for social stimulation which comprises of tourism, sports and arts.
He is optimistic that his seven-point agenda would be properly executed based on three encapsulating factors of Technology and Industrialization, Internally Generated Revenue and People’s Economic Prosperity to accomplish true vision for Oyo State.
While speaking on the issue of civil servants in Oyo State, Chief Adelabu stated that he does not believe in the idea of civil service being over bloated, saying that the reality of it is that they would be posted where their potentialities can be harnessed to ensure more productivity.
He promised more regular payment of salary and necessary incentives to encourage quality service delivery.
Chief Adelabu assured that the atmosphere in the party has changed from what they had before and during the primaries.
He noted that all the apparatus and various factional groups within the party have agreed to form a common front to ensure victory in the 2019 elections.
Adelabu reiterated that the Central Campaign Committee of the party will extend all its activities to all the 33 local government areas and the entire geo-political zones in the state to ensure that messages get to the necessary and appropriate quarters.
