The Youth for Change, a youth based political organization which was established since year 2014 in Ekiti State has, during the week, collapsed its political structure into the State Chapter of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) in Ado Ekiti.
The event which took place at the State Party Secretariat of the People’s Party of Nigeria along the Ado-Ikere Ekiti road was witnessed by the State Executive members of the party in Ekiti State led by its State Chairman, Alhaji Dare Adekolu who welcomed and officially received the decampees into the PPN’s fold in Ekiti State.
The leader of the Youth for Change in Ekiti State, Mr. Agbede Kolawole, an Ise-Ekiti born mediator and human rights activist while speaking to officially herald the collapse of the Youth for Change into the PPN in Ekiti State said: “we took the step to collapse the political structure of the Youth for Change into the People’s Party of Nigeria (PPN) in Ekiti State because the current government of President Muhammad Buhari we worked for in 2015 has failed and disappointed us, hence the reason for their decision.
“The Youth for Change worked ceaselessly for the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015. What we are most concerned about as members of the Youth for Change is how to move our State and the Country forward and lift it from the mess of insecurity the country finds itself today”.
The State Coordinator of the Youth for Change in Ekiti State, Mr. Agbede Kolawole said “we only have hope in the ability of the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Party of Nigeria in person of Mr. Al-Mustapha, the former Chief of Staff to the late General Sani Abacha to solve the serious security problems facing the country today. If President Muhammadu Buhari who is a military man can not solve the insecurity problems in the country today, is it Atiku Abubakar who once worked as an ordinary custom officer that will do what Buhari cannot do?
“Another reason is that the current government has neglected the youths who voted it into power. Among all the Presidential Candidates, it is only the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Party of Nigeria, Mr. Al-Mustapha who has the military experience to solve the insecurity problems bedeviling the country at the moment. Al-Mustapha has the military experience to curb insecurity in the Country”.
Alhaji Dare Adekolu, the State Chairman of PPN in Ekiti State while welcoming the state coordinator and the local government coordinators in all the 16 local government areas of the state into the party emphasized “that the Youth for Change and PPN have the same ideology. He encouraged and charged the new intake into the party to be committed, resolute and work hard by ensuring that the Presidential Candidate of the party, Al-Mustapha wins the Presidential election scheduled for February, 2019.”
