Oyo NUJ Mourns BCOS Broadcaster, Bukola Akintade

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has mourned the sudden death of Mrs. Bukola Akintade, a captivating newscaster, editor, and producer with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).

The Union described her passing as shocking and heartbreaking, noting that the news of her demise came as a rude shock to the entire media community in the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Mr. Akeem Abas, and the Secretary, Comrade Temidayo Adu, the Council expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a seasoned professional whose contributions to journalism will not be forgotten.

The statement notes that Mrs. Akintade distinguished herself as a committed and versatile broadcaster, whose captivating delivery and professionalism endeared her to audiences and colleagues alike.

The NUJ also recalled her service to the union as a former Treasurer of the NUJ BCOS Chapel, where she served meritoriously and without blemish, contributing to the growth and unity of the chapel.

Describing her personality, the Council said the late journalist was always lively, calm, and wore a beaming smile that brightened every room, adding that her warm disposition would be greatly missed.

The Union further stated that her dedication to duty, humility, and passion for excellence set her apart as a role model within the profession.

The NUJ Oyo State Council extended its heartfelt condolences to her family, colleagues at BCOS, and the entire journalism community, praying that God grants them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and grants the deceased eternal rest.
