Daniel Akpeyi, Super Eagles goalkeeper saved a 94th minute penalty to hand Keizer Chiefs a 1-1 draw against SuperSports United in an ABSA Premier League match on Saturday.
Chiefs went in front in the 14th minute through Samir Nurkovic and thought they had gotten the win but Bradley Grobler in the 83rd minute equalized for the away team sending the game to a nervy finale.
Akpeyi was booked in the 78th minute of the encounter.
Grobler, had the opportunity to give the visitors the win through a 94th minute penalty, but the Nigerian international dived in the right direction to save the spot kick ensuring that Chiefs remain unbeaten in three games.
Chiefs are currently top of the table on seven points with two wins and one draw.
This is Akpeyi’s second game of the season and he will be hoping his performance will enable him keep the no1. Spot with the return of veteran South African goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.
