Odion Ighalo, former Super Eagles striker, has said he does not have plans of calling it quit from football anytime soon.

In a chat with our correspondent, Ighalo said he will continue playing until his body can no longer cope with the physical demands of the game.

“I can’t retire now, I am just 30 years old, I still have more years to play. I am not thinking about that until the next five years.  I will play until you will have to send me away that I can’t move anymore,” Ighalo told Sports Extra.

Ighalo retired from international football after helping Nigeria win the bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt in July.

He ended the tournament as the highest goalscorer, with five goals.

The striker also spoke about his time in the Chinese league and plans to return to Europe.

“It’s been great in China, I just finished my third season, I am loving it and I am doing well there. We won the Chinese Cup and we are playing in the Asian Champions League which is very good.

“I still have two years in Shanghai, but in football, you don’t know what will happen. Anything that comes up, and it’s okay for me and my family, fine. But if not, I am not enjoying my life in Shanghai,” he added.
