The newly installed Serki Hausa of Ife, Alhaji Lawan Isiaka Yaro has urged all traditional rulers in Nigeria to emulate His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi’s gesture of goodwill towards other tribes in his domain.

Alhaji Lawan, who is the head of the Hausa community in Ife, said this when he led his people on a courtesy visit to the Enuwa Square palace of the paramount king, saying “If we have this kind of traditional ruler all over the country, it will continue to bring peaceful co-existence in Nigeria.”

Speaking further, Alhaji Lawan said Oba Ogunwusi has been a father to all people in his domain in respect of their tribe or religion and he always treats matters concerning the people with fairness without favoritism or discrimination.

“Oba Adeyeye has been so good to the Hausa community in Ife and this is a sign of good traditional leadership we need in our country.

“Our traditional leaders should emulate what Ooni Adeyeye is doing by embracing all non indigenes irrespective of their tribes or religions because this would form a strong co-existence among the people in Nigeria,” Alhaji Lawan said.

Also speaking at the occasion, the chairman of Arewa Initiative For Peaceful Co-existence in Southern Nigeria, Osun State chapter, Ahmad Salihu said “Since the His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi became the paramount king of the land, he has showed that he is a father to all the people in Ife and he has never for once shown favouritism in his judgments.”

Ooni Adeyeye, who dashed a Honda Accord Anaconda car to the new Serki Hausa, said he was happy with the Hausa community and he advised them to be good ambassadors of peace in the area.
