As the people of Anambra State prepare to participate in the gubernatorial election to elect their new Governor, the newly elected National Deputy Chairman, South of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has expressed optimism that his party will triumph at the end of the exercise tomorrow.
Arapaja who emerged as the Deputy Chairman of the party at the recently conducted national convention of the party in Abuja stated this while expressing his view on the militarization of the state by the federal government ahead of the election coming up tomorrow.
Arapaja said that Anambra State has always belonged to the PDP and people in the State are very much prepared to give their votes to the candidate of the party. Therefore, any attempt to force people against their wish will backfire. Hewarned.
According to him, “the federal government should give chance to the people to elect their leaders. You cannot force people against their wish it will backfire. If you are really doing well, there is no need forcing people to vote your party but because the APC is not doing well that is why they are trying to force people to vote for their party. But what I know is that Anambra State is a PDP state and our party shall triumph at the end of the day.” He submitted.
Arapaja further hinted that with the success recorded at the party’s national convention last weekend, the party has bounced back stronger and virile to take power from the cabal that have been oppressing and subjecting Nigerians to abject poverty since 2015 when it took over power in the country.
Meanwhile, a special thanksgiving prayer was held on Friday morning to appreciate God for Arapaja’s victory at the national convention of the party.
At the prayer session which was organized by the in-house caucus of the Arapaja group at his Felele residence, Ibadan, Ambassador Arapaja said the essence of the prayer was to give thanks to God because every success irrespective of the situation needs prayer.
Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja also used the occasion to pay glowing tributes his political mentor and godfather in politics, late Alhaji Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu and prayed for the reposed of his soul.
He also appreciated his wife, Chief Mrs Taofeekat Arapaja for her support, Engr Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State for his moral and financial support which culminated in his emergence as the Deputy National Chairman as well as others that contributed to his success.
While pledging his unalloyed loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde, Ambassador Arapaja implored all party faithful in the State to continue to support the present administration and work towards ensuring the re-election of the governor in 2023.
