Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba (Grand Council of Yoruba Youths) has conferred the ‘Baba isale awon odo orile ede apapo Naijiria’ award on the chairman of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency  (NDLEA), Gen Buba Marwa (Rtd), in recognition of his excellent contributions to the growth of various youth organisations across the states of the federation.

Presenting the award at the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, the  Aare-Apapo (President-General) of  Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba (Grand Council of Yoruba Youths), Comrade Awa Bamiji, described Marwa as a longstanding bridge builder and detribalised Nigerian.

Awa, who was accompanied by  Gbenga Adedamola and Ibiok Emmanuel- members of  Ekiti and Akwa Ibom  chapters of the Nigeria Youth Congress  (NYC)-and Salam Surajudeen Oyejide, the immediate past Senate President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and an aspirant for the All African Students’ Union (AASU) position, said: “Gen Buba Marwa  has impacted positively on the lives of several youth’ organisations and Individuals across the River Niger for decades. Therefore, he is the man who the cap fits.”

In his acceptance speech, Marwa appreciated the first class hospitality of the Yorubas which allowed him to have his primary education at Lafenwa, Abeokuta, and secondary education, at Olumo High School, before completing it in Lagos.

He also appreciated the laudable contributions of Grand Council of Yoruba Youths since its inauguration two decades ago, which, according to him, he attended with pleasure.

The NDLEA chairman praised the dodgedness and uncommon courage of the group led by its President-General, Awa, to keep hope alive, which he said has qualified members of the group as NDLEA ambassadors.

He, thereafter, decorated his visitors as NDLEA ambassadors.
