Nigerian superstar, David ‘Davido’ Adeleke revealed on October 25, 2021, that his third concert at the O2 will take place on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Earlier in the week ALAT by Wema, Nigeria’s first fully digital bank, announced that 10 lucky fans of the superstar residing in London will be rewarded with free tickets to watch the artist’s highly anticipated concerts. This was announced via ALAT’s social media pages.

Davido’s highly touted concert at the famous O2 Arena, Peninsula Square, London, sold out with no available tickets hours before the went live, and it is expected that the feat will be repeated at the singer’s second UK concert at the Victoria Warehouse.

There was a surprise takeover of ALAT’s social media pages – and followers got an exclusive peek at all the behind-the-scenes activities that occurred at the 02 backstage.

While the lucky winners enjoyed themselves and partied like rockstars, ALAT also shared live videos from the concert’s backstage. The bank was able to usher thousands of its followers across its social media pages – Twitter, Facebook and Instagram – on a journey behind the curtain of the biggest show of the year. Osikhena ‘Osi Suave’ Dirisu, popular Beat FM OAP, took over ALAT’s social media pages and introduced followers to some of the country’s biggest artistes.

Top executives of Wema bank also attended the concert including, Head, Marketing Communications and Investor Relations, Wema Bank Plc, Funmilayo Falola; Chief Digital Officer, Wema Bank Plc, Olusegun Adeniyi; Divisional Head, Retail Business, Wema Bank Plc, Dotun Ifebogun and the Head of Operations, Wema Bank, Tajudeen Bakare.

Now, fans in Manchester, UK, wait with bated breath for Davido’s performance at the Manchester O2 Victoria Warehouse on Saturday, March 12, 2022. ALAT will once again give out 10 free tickets to residents of Manchester who can answer fun trivia questions on its social media pages. While Nigerian customers will not be left out of the freebies, it is expected that the bank will share details on what it is cooking up for Davido’s final performance in London.

On Friday, December 3, 2021, ALAT announced it had signed Davido as its ambassador, kickstarting a symbiotic relationship that will see Adeleke embody the brand’s persona while interacting with its rapidly expanding customer base. The announcement came 16 days after the ‘If’ crooner raised ₦200 million during a viral virtual fundraising for his 29th birthday via social media. The singer had opened an ALAT by Wema account to track the inflow of money from his well-wishers and fans across the world.

Since its inception in 2017, ALAT by Wema has invested in youth-oriented business ideas such as ALAT Business, as well as initiatives and activities such as ALAT Talk Series, ALAT Food Challenge and partnered with SociaLiga.
