The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated that it will deploy four National Commissioners and eight Resident Electoral Commissioners to oversee the conduct of the Ekiti state’s gubernatorial election.

INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, stated this on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Ado-Ekiti.

He stated that the commission is making concerted efforts to ensure that the election is credible adding that sensitive materials for the conduct of the election had arrived at the state Headquarters of the commission in preparation for inspection by the political parties.

He said, “We have deployed four national commissioners, eight resident electoral commissioners and many senior officials to support our state office here in Ekiti State to deliver credible elections”.

Yakubu said the commission has delivered the permanent voter cards (PVC’s) for all valid registrants in Ekiti, adding that 749,065 eligible voters have collected their cards as at June 13, 2022.

He, however, urged all registered voters that are yet to collect their PVCs to seize the opportunity to do so.
