Oyebanji’s Govt In Ekiti Hails Nigeria Institute Of Quantity Surveyors

Mr Biodun Oyebanji’s government in Ekiti State has commended the contributions of the Quantity Surveyors to the development of the construction industry in Nigeria and Ekiti State in particular.

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji who was represented by the Head of Service, Barrister Bamidele Agbede while playing host to the National Executives of the Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) in Ado – Ekiti.

He praised the activities of Ekiti Practitioners in the area of promoting  high standards and durable projects as he urged them to continue to support the State government in the area of infrastructural development.

The Governor who reiterated the contributions of the Association to all sectors of the economy in creating value for money, especially in the costing of projects, procurement, planning, budget implementation, project cost monitoring and project management in the construction industry, promised to support activities of the Institute in Ekiti State, added that his administration value the expertise contribution of professionals in service delivery and implementation.

Earlier, the National President of the Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) QS, Olayemi Shonubi FNIQS, MIoD said the members of the professional Association from all over Nigeria were in Ekiti State for the National Annual General Meeting and investiture of Ekiti Branch New Executives.

Shonubi added that it becomes expedient for the body to call on the State Governor, His Excellency Abayomi Oyebanji and intimate the Government of the programmes and activities of the Institute and also present challenges of the Ekiti State branch for optimum performance and contribution to accelerate growth and development of the State and as well support the government towards achieving its goals and objectives.

He described the Quantity Surveyors as experts that were trained to provide Total Costs and Procurement Management of Capital Projects from conception to the stage of Commissioning and maintenance in all sectors of the economy, thereby creating value for money for the government.
