The Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has inspected the ongoing asphaltic tarring of 10km Ido-Omi Adio Road, which is still under rehabilitation.
Adeojo, who was accompanied to the construction site by some top officials of the Council, commended the site engineers and urged them to fast-track the completion of the project.
He explained that prompt completion of the road will enable the residents and passers-by enjoy the dividend of democracy.
While thanking the contractors for a good job done so far, Adeojo stressed the necessity of the road to commuters and residents, noting that the road is strategic and would help in diverting traffic.
The rehabilitation project, which was flagged off by Governor Seyi Makinde on February 3, 2023, is being executed by the Ido Local Government Council.
The project scope covers the road from Eleyele to Akufo Junction and will serve as an access route to the Omi Adio Train Station.
Upon completion, the rehabilitated road will reduce the travel time on the Ido and Omi Adio Road and ensure an easier commute to and from the Omi Adio Train Station.
