The group chairman at the global financial institution, United Bank for Africa and Heirs Holdings, Tony O. Elumelu, C.F.R. has been celebrating to mark the 96th birthday anniversary of his mother, Suzanne Elumelu.
While celebrating his first love on his verified LinkedIn page on Wednesday, the great philanthropist wrote “Happy 96th Birthday, Mum! 🎉Wishing you many more years of cherished memories, laughter, and love”.
Anthony Onyemaechi Elumelu also known as Tony O. Elumelu CFR (born 22 March 1963) is a Nigerian economist, and philanthropist. He chairs Heirs Holdings, Transcorp, United Bank for Africa (UBA) and is the founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation.
In 2020, Elumelu was named on Time’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Tony Elumelu was born in Jos, Plateau, Nigeria, on 22 March 1963, to Suzanne and Dominic Elumelu from Onicha-Ukwu in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State. He grew up with four siblings, one of whom is Ndudi Elumelu, a minority leader in the Nigerian Federal House of Representatives.
