The former NCC Chairman, Professor Adeolu Akande has confirmed the demise of his father, Pa Amos Adetunji Akande.
In a chat with PMParrot, the former Chief of Staff to late Governor Abiola Ajimobi informed that Pa Amos died on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 aged over 90 years in Otu Town, in Oyo State.
He also added that burial arrangements would be announced by the family after expected consultations.
In a similar development, the National Executive Council of Otu Community Development Union (OCDU) has issued a statement formally announcing the death of the great community leader.
Akinwumi Akinfenwa, OCDU’s Director of Communication said in the statement that Pa Akande was a beacon of wisdom, a pillar of unity, and a true custodian of our cherished values and traditions.

“With heavy hearts but total submission to the will of Almighty God, the National Executive Council of Otu Community Development Union (OCDU) announces the sudden passing of our illustrious elder, father, and foremost community leader, Pa Amos Adetunji Akande, who slept in the Lord at the ripe age of over 90 years.
“Pa Akande was a beacon of wisdom, a pillar of unity, and a true custodian of our cherished values and traditions. His invaluable contributions to the progress and development of Otu land will remain evergreen in the hearts of generations to come.
“As we mourn his departure, we also celebrate a life well spent in service to God, humanity, and community.
“Further details regarding burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.
